There are days when you get inspired by simple things, like this beautiful picture of these 2 birds. I just loved the colors and they looked like 2 love birds.
November 18th will be our 21st wedding anniversary and I wanted to give a small piece of art to my husband as a gift. He's sweet, he likes to have my work in his office. I wanted an image that was not us, but represented a couple, and this was the perfect picture for this project.
My starting point was one of the Huge Tags, I just love to play with them. They are simple and fun to use. I layered it with woodgrain patterned paper that was inspired by the November More Than Words challenge.
NOTE: This tag is EXTRA Large, 5.5 x 10 inches, the base is chipboard covered by a woodgrain paper. Not your standard tag.
Corner ornament clusters are always fun when you can play with different objects and flower shapes. I had this small round wood piece that is slightly hidden under the bright white flower. Then underneath, the stunning leaves. Together they complete this beautiful fall piece.
I heat embossed my chipboard in various fall tones.

Last final touches were to ass splatters of ink, diluted gesso and then some sequins for an added bling.

Creative Challenge - WOODGRAIN
Outdoors: I love nature, I enjoy especially seeing animals in Nature. The fall I find particularly spectacular because of all the wonderful colors we have here in Canada. At home, at this time of the year, I always have a bird feeder, we do not get the birds on my project, but we do get stunning birds like Cardinals and Blue Jays many times per day.
Woodgrain, many vendors now offer stunning woodgrain backgrounds, I find them so versatile. If I look at my projects over the last year, I would say 40% have a woodgrain background. I enjoy the natural feel it gives the project and the dark one I used on my project is perfect to give focus to the light elements in my clusters. I also added in my clusters that small round piece of wood, to add an extra outdoor feel to the project.
I hope you enjoyed my project, thanks for stopping by !
