Believe and Stamping for More Than Words

It's December already and time for our last challenge of 2018

Here is my layout for the December challenge: Believe & Stamping

The inspiration for BELIEVE is my son Philippe. His persistance in school by doing a french summer class paid off, he proudly was able to graduate High School this year. Philippe is part of the many young adults in the Autism Spectrum Disorder. He believed he could graduate, he worked hard and was able to achieve the scores he needed for the mandatory french exam. We are so proud that he persisted and was able to achieve this goal.

The STAMPING part of the challenge is layers of stamping of words like BELIEVE, Dream on, Never say never, texture stamps on the background and heat embossed stamped flowers.
Image may contain: text
Here is a closer look at some areas:

This flair was just perfect... translation is: Being different is not a bad thing. Philippe might be different, but he is the most charming and sweet young man around.

I hope you like my take on the challenge, can't wait to see your entry this month.

Products used: Cuts2luv flair, Paper 7 Dots Studio, Stamps by Altenew, Inks Ranger & Distress oxide, Chipboard 2 Dusty Attic, Ink Lindy's Mad Hatter Mint

March challenge for More Than Words challenge blog

It's challenge time at More than Words and this one took me out of my comfort zone. Oh how I love challenges.

This month : CONFORTABLE & COLOR COMBO

Comfortable to me is arriving home from work, slipping into some comfy pyjamas, warms socks and making a hot tea. This in my winter routine, and how I can bare our Canadian winters.

I seldom do this, but this stunning picture is from Pinterest, unfortunately I was not able to find the source, but It truly represented my feeling of comfortable.

I like adding sprays on my background. For this layout I used Lindy's T-Bird Turquoise and Gag me with a spoon gray.

I just LOVE this quote on the Cuts2luv flair:

And this word sentiment from 7 Dots Studio was just perfect. I love the new Stone Cottage Northern Light collection, this background paper was perfect for a wintery layout.

And now time for the More than Words challenge board:

For my choice of the 3 colours, I got out of my comfort zone and selected: Forest Green, Mint and Grey. I seldom play with greens.

I hope you will be playing along, I wish you

Travel for Cuts2luv and More than Words challenge

It's my turn to show you how the Cuts2luv mood board inspired me this month. At the same time, I had another source of inspiration for this page, it came from the More Than Words challenge blog.

Let's start with the Cuts2luv moodboard, where I incorporated:
  • Color combo
  • Leaves for embellishments
  • and a photo that has trees

Now for the More than Words challenge: HERE

Word Inspiration - DELICATE

In regards to the word DELICATE, this picture was taken at the foot of the Newschwanstein Castle. The castle itself has inside so many delicate details from an architectural perspective. The outside is light and soft and probably why this was the inspiration for the famous Disney Cinderella Castle. I love the walk we had to take to get up to the castle, it has some of the most breath taking views of the Bavaria region. I am in awe of the delicate details on the Castle, when you consider that back then crown moldings and many of the woodwork like doors and furniture were all carved by hand, it is just stunning. The details in the iron work floors of wood and ceramics are also amazing. Just a wonderful site to visit.

Creative Challenge - FABRICS

On my page, I included different types of fabric from the lace flowers to soft white tulle. I love the dimension this give to the page.

Here is a closer look at the tulle:

And the lace flowers that I received as a gift from a crafty friend from the Netherlands. Isn't it beautiful?

I enjoy adding a stencil to my background, especially this Tim Holtz floral pattern. I just love the dimension it gives.

And no layout is finished without one of my favorites Cuts2luv flairs. This quote was just perfect:

This leaves flair was a perfect fit for this fall picture:

Other products used:
  • 7 Dots Studio Cotton Candy paper collection & small words
  • Lindy's Spray: Wild honeysuckle coral, Kissin Kenickie Coral & Cape Cod Coral Sprays
  • Clear and White gesso from Prima
  • Flowers: Wild Orchid Crafts

I hope you enjoyed my take on the challenges, and wish you a wonderful crafty day !

Albert Einstein for 7 Dots Studio and Lindy's blog challenges

Hi everyone, I've been loving the inspiration that I am getting when I look at many online challenges.

For this page, I was inspired by the following 2 blog challenges :

&

For my page, I chose Albert Einstein, I like many of his quotes, especially this one. I believe that he must have been someone quite special and so open minded. I always like to try new things and sometimes trial by error is the best way to learn. That is why I chose him, because in my Scrapbooking, that is what I like to do... TRY new things.

The Tim Holtz quote: Today is full of possibilities is one that I felt fit well with Albert Einstein's character.

Making a beautiful page is often easier when you love the paper collection. I used this 7 dots paper to start. Then I added some stenciling work in numbers and lines with embossing paste & gesso. I felt that those 2 stencils sent well with the picture. Then I wanted to add more texture and added microbeads with gel medium.

I heat embossed the chipboard with Lindy's embossing powder.

I added some touches of colors with the Lindy's sprays:

The Orange color of the Lindy's color combo is defined by the rusted metal gears. Again, I felt that they were perfect for this Albert Einstein page.

Here is the inspiration wheel from 7 Dots studio, the DT did awesome work.

Here is the color combo for the Lindy's challenge:

Products used are:

7 Dots studio paper
Tim Holtz words & stencils
Finnabair gears & microbeads
Clear & Black Gesso
Creative Embellishments chipboard
Cuts2luv flair

Thanks for stopping by, I wish you a wonderful crafty day !
