Sweet Girl

I love when I can combine work and play...
This is one of my monthly projects for Creative Embellishments and it was inspired by the Lindy's Stamp Gang and More than Words March challenges.
I've had this picture of my friends beautiful daughter for a while now, I just loved the Smash the cake photo shoot she did for her daughter's first birthday. Wish that concept existed 18 years ago (sniff..).

This Smash the cake picture is perfect for the Lindy's challenge don't you think?

I wanted a classy but fun look for this page, and really wanted to use texture to give some of the feeling of that cake frosting.

I started by applying molding paste thru a flower stencil, then added 2 different colors of similar hues of my Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays. I've mentioned it before, but in case you missed it, I add my sprays with a paint brush to have better control of my prays. I used two of the colors of the March color combo for Lindy's Stamp Gang.

Now the smash the cake was for her 1st birthday, so I wanted to ensure I would have the Happy Birthday small words on the page. I struggled on where to place it for a while, then it took place. I wanted to add just a few touches of black to add some dimension, so I also added this beautiful embossed half butterfly it was the perfect touch and a suggestion from the More than Words March challenge.
Notice also the small frame underneath, they have become my favorite chippies and go on all my projects, I just can't get enough of theses small frames. For the candy effect, the art stones worked perfectly and really take the color of the stains. Love this effect.

Now for a few more pictures...

Ohhh the 3 inch clock chipboard, another recent favorite:

And last but not least, this beautiful Sweet Girl Chipboard title, I just love it simply embossed in white.

That was easy, Have you seen this girl, she is just a stunning Princess, and how cute is she in this picture? She truly was the inspiration for my page. I also found that the colors of this picture resemble the one of the challenge board.

Again, that was easy, love my chipboard butterfly. The black touch makes it stand out.

Today - Cuts2luv

Purple... so not a color that I craft often even though I love it.

At the office before Christmas, as a fund raising event for Centraide, we had a photo shoot event. It was a fun day. That being said, I hate having my picture taken, but it was for a good cause. Lucky for me I was actually able to get a few good shots in...

My starting point was my desire to test out the new Lindy's Stamp gang shakers. Trust me that I have fallen in love and now want every single color !

Then I added some purple stamping with my Archival inks and some embossed purple hearts.

This flair from my Cuts2luv collection was perfect with the ombre effect. Love how it goes from light purple to blue. I truly enjoy placing flairs with my flowers.

Are you familiar with Cuts2luv? My besty Caroline started this local brand a few years ago. She was the 1st to manufacture flairs in Quebec and she always comes out with unique ones. Some are hand painted images done by our friend Valerie.

Here is the lonnk to her store, she is a sweatheart, I am certain you will fall in love with her products:

The one I used is from this Ombre Heart collection. Notice that the colors on this one can change slightly, but they will be amazing.

I hope you enjoyed how I played around with Purple today... Thanks for stopping by !

Bonne Fête Gabriel

Bonne fête à mon BÉBÉ qui a maintenant 18 ans !!!

Creative Embellishments March challenge

It's now time to introduce the beautiful Creative Embellishments March challenge. This one is just amazing with it lovely fantasy landscape and beautiful images.

First my project for this challenge is a 4'' by 8'' canvas

Here is the inspiration image:

Now let me walk you thru my process...

1st I adde a layer of molding paste thru my stencil, then picked one of my colored sprays for my background. I like to add my spray by using a paint brush, I can have more control on where I send my spray:

Next step was to cover my chipies with white gesso and to chose 3 different colors of embossing powders:

Then I add some diluted gesso as splatters on my canvas and flowers:

Products I used are the following:

Monarch Butterfly set

Now for my project!

I started my page by adding gesso to my background and the adding some Lindy's Magicals Blue denim. Then I gessoed my chipboard and colored it with the same dilueted magicals. I added a few extra coats in certain sections to give it a multi colored effect. The gold was done by adding a drop of my gold spray:

Here is a closer look at the Spiegelmom gold stars, they are just the right size, and add beautiful shine to the page.

Now a few more closer images of my Prima flowers, Prima frame, Altenew stamps, 13@rts art stones and Finnabair gold beads. I used my creative embellishments script stamp in archival blue for adding more details.
