January Moodboard Challenge at SAP

My friend Marie-France created this wonderful moodboard with very neutral colors, totally out of my comfort zone. Also another twist was adding yarn... Yarn... who knew I even had some in my stock...

Here is my page for this challenge:

The background paper is from 13@rts, the die cut id Heidi Swapp, the Tag is from ChicTags

Just love the plush animals on her moodboard...

Have a great day peeps !

Epic- Hogwarts

I had some time over the weekend to play in my craft room and I had this idea in my mind for a long time.

I pulled out my Finnabair White Crackle paste and my Lindy's Stamp Magicals and started to work on the bricks of my page. I have to say, It was very easy to do and the result is stunning.

Here are a few close-up pics of the before and after the addition on the Magicals

I felt that the black did not bring enough punch, so I adde an extra layer of paint over it to bring it more sliky look. Then I played with the magicals. After I added some black paint dots.

I painted my BlueFern Studios ornaments Black and added just a touch of clue to highlight the sky in the picture. The ornaments are sepia colored to match the bric.

And yes... I needed and OWL.. Luckily my friend Caroline has some in her Cuts2Luv collections.

I hope you have a magical day !

La France with Binka Hé,

So we are off to another great worldwide scrap adventure with the Scrap Aux Puces team.

The first stop is FRANCE, with the discovery of a wonderful artist Binka Hé
Her blog: http://lesreasdebinka.blogspot.ca/

She is on the creative teams of badges Folies and Carto Scrap. She designs her own exclusive products like dies for CartoScrap and stamps for Scraposhphère.  I was not familiar with her work, but it is clear that I will follow her work from now on.

The challenge was a scraplift of one of her pages. Here is my page for this challenge

I'll be honnest when I say that this was my 2nd attempt at this challenge. I just do not like my pages in this style. I know my friends LOVED it, but I'm still struggling with it. Not certain if it's the choice of my picture or the fact that it's too asymetric, it's just not my favorite page.

What I do like is the gesso effect on the motif page, I like how it created some debth and joined well with the white background. I also like placing the title on the side. Really cute.

Here is Binka's page for this challenge:

So.. Thanks to the SAP team for thsi great discovery and thanks Binka for your inspiration!.

Toi & Moi - Mixed Media canvas

In the last few weeks, I've already shown you my friend Caroline's new die-cuts over at Cuts2Luv.

Once again, I am including one in my mixed-media canvas that I have created for my upcoming class.

I just LOVE my Dina Wakley scribble birds. On this time, I colored them with a dry brush technique. The stamped image is done over gessoed paper. Once painted, I covered the scribbled image with my stabilo aquarelle pencil. The left image is completed, the right still needs to be done.

What did I use to create my frame you will ask? Simply a 8x8 canvas.. I just turned it around and used the back. I did add a layer of light molding paste to hide the staples...

And then painted the canvas with acrylique paint... The rest is kept a secret unless you attend my class in February...

And here is the Cuts2Luv kit:

Thanks for having a peek at my piece, I hope you enjoy it !

R.I.P. Snape...aka Alan Rickman

Cancer... this aweful disease has taken many icons this week, from David Bowie, Rene Angelile and my favorite professor to hate & love at the same time Snape...

I've always loved to hate Alan Rickman, he played the bag guys so well : The Sherrif in Robin Hood, The britt in Die-Hard but my favorite was Snape.

You've seen my many many pages for Universal Studios and Harry Potter, and yes, I am a kid at heart and a big Fan. I have to say that I was sad to hear of Alan's passing at such a young age.

May he rest in peace, and may his family find comfort in the love & devotion of his fans.
