Snow Happy

Oh yes, another ski page. I have to say that with teen boys, it's getting harder to get pictures. They just hate it, so I have to take opportunities like outings to get a few pics. This one is another picture taken during a ski session at Mount Orford last January.

The challenge for this page was to color the modeling paste. On my part, I sed my Lindy's Stamp gang Magicals to color my light molding paste.

I also played with my Distress inks to create a soft background with a numbers stencil.

So do you color your modeling paste? If yes, what is your preferd medium to use?

I am simply Me

I am simply Me...

A strong statement to make. It's a battle to keep faith in your abilities at times and to accept your weeknesses and try to leverage your strenghts. At times I find that I forget and I love this paper collection pack from Simple Stories <I AM> because I believe that we need to keep it top of mind that in order to be succesful in Life, we need to believe in ourself.

For this page, I was inspired by the monthly sketch challenge at Blue Fern Studio as well as a scraplift from Scrap aux puces.

Ohhh and guess what.... This page was chosen as featured page onBlue Fern Studios blog: Feature link. Thanks ladies for chosing my page, I am quite touched !

Do you love badges as much as I do? If yes, have a look at the wonderfuls ones that my friend Caroline makes over at Cuts2Luv. Here is how included them in my layout.

Here is the Blue Fern Studio sketch for November:

Here is the scraplift challenge. On my part, I did not use the sketch of that page, but took the inspiration from the following elements:
-Molding paste in shape of circles
-The colors turquoise & Vintage photo
-The flowers
-The used of large twine in a circle
-The stain drips & watercolors
-The postage feel stamping
-The numbers stamped in the background.

Harry Potter- oh yes another one

I still have so many beautiful pictures of our visit to the Harry Potter World, my souvenir album is coming along slowly but surely.

For this page I got inspired by 2 things... 1st was the challenge of placing lots of thread onto our page at Scrapauxpuces and the 2nd inspiration came from a page that I had pined on my Pinterest board.

I used 2 colors of thread Red & Grey on 3 different areas of my page.

On my page I used: Washi tape, Prima light, Creation Imaginations Harry Potter stickers (Yes, I've had them for a while so don't go trying to find them, they've been sold out for ages) The papers are actually a Christmas Collection from 7 Dots Studio, it's such a beautiful collection, who says it needs to only be used for Christmas Themed pages???

So I sraplifted this page created by Delaina Burns, an artist I discovered via 7 dots studio blog. I just fell in Love with her page and really wanted to make a page that had a similar look and feel.

Thanks for the inspiration Delaina,,,

Together- Family Ski Vacation

Last January, we went away on a family ski vacation with some family members. We rented a cotage for the weekend and then went skiing at Mount Sutton in the Sherbrooke area. It was our very first time on this mountain. We were so lucky that day. There were no clouds in sight, the sun was shining bright and the weathers was almost spring like. Just a Fantastic January day.

I took many pictures that day, here is one of my favorites of my son Philippe with his cousin Julie and Martin. Winters are long in Canada, so skiing I have found to be a really great family activity to embrace the snow and spend time outside with the ones I love.

To so this page, I was inspired by the challenge board over at Scrap Around The World

Here is a closer look at the picture.. see no clouds...

For this page, I played around with embossing and ink, no medium this time around. I added some snow flake die cuts and I used glitter paper to created them. Of course you will see some of my favorite Cuts2Luv buttons, one is never enough on a page.

Here is the Scrap Around the World inspiration board:

Ohhh I can't wait to get skiing again... but not looking forward to the cold...

Wishing you all a fabulous day !

Family Mini-Golf CSI Case file #181

Wow it has been quite a while since I last did a challenge over on the CSI forum.

Loved the color combo, the sketch and the boyish inspiration. Here is my page for Case File #181:

Here is a closer look at the picture montage:

The text is handwritten and the title is a beautiful wood veneer by Freckled Fawn.

My evidence for this challenge: Kraft Background, clowds, gears, metal, stamps, clock parts & a mustache.
The testimony talks about a day during our vacation in Florida in 2014.
I also used the Nifty Pixel sketch.

Here is the case file if you want to give it a try.

Harry Potter Fan

As myou migh thave noticed, I am a big kid at heart. I Love the Harry Potter series and the park in Orlando. So far, I have visited 4 times and now on my buckt list is to visit the studio in London.

My page was inspired by an online challenge. I needed to include pages of an old book. It just inspired me to do another of my Harry Potter souvenir page. I also had the stamp that I loved the quote: I'm in my own little world, but it's okay because they know me there. I felt the quote fitting because any Harry Potter fan would understand that it truly would be a world that I'd love to say I lived in, so maybe for the 1 day I visit the park, I can pretend.

Papers are from the Harry Potter collection, I added some gel medium numbers and letters are the bottom for effect. I aslo adde some Blue Fern studio chipboards that I colored with my Distress stains.

Do you share my Potter passion?

Cuts2Luv November challenge

It's that time again for a fantastic challenge over at the Cuts2Luv blog.

I find it so easy to create when I have a starting point. Either the sketch, the color scheme and in this case the title. I had this beautiful picture with Donna Downey during onr of her clsses in Montreal a few years back. I especially loved making this piece with Pan Pastels.

I followed the Moodboard sections: Color Combo, Sketch, lined paper & the word Dream

Wishing you a great day !

Upcoming class

It's November, so it's time to start preparing your Christmas gifts. What doe you give a family member that has everything? My mother in law and my mom just have it all, and every year, it's a challenge to know what to get them. In the most recent years, I've been using my creativity to make cute family photo albums. This year I was inspired by my mixed-media classes.

In preparing my November class, I was at a loss for ideas, one student asked for a tree... As they say, the night can bring inspiration so I woke up the next morning and had this little project in mind.

So Melissa the store owner had bough some sets of lights, they were just perfect to add to this project. Simple to use, I attached the battery pack at the back, pierced the canvas and then started fixing the lights to canvas. Here is a sneak peak of what it looks like when lit:

So if you are in the Montreal area and want to join in on my class, feel free to join me at Passion Collimagination in Laprairie on November 26th.

Hope you can come join the fun !
