Tis the Season pour Cuts2luv

Guest DT for Scrapki Wyzwaniowo

Hi everyone, it's a great honor to have been invited to be a guest designer in November for Scrapki Wyzwaniowo.

The challenge this month is HEXAGONS

The inspiration for this page came from this beautiful picture of Ayden, my niece's son. I am making her a 12 x 12 memories album as a gift.

My starting point was to create a layer of hexagons (Donna Downey stencil) on my watercolor paper. Then I started building my layers of ink colors. My favorite inks are the Lindy's inks. On this page I played with Tiffanylou Blue and Sassy Saphire. In order to build up my layers of ink, I like to add the inks with a paint brush. I let each coat dry before continuing to layer. I also like to do splatters of the same inks.

I heat embossed in silver my chipboard elements (Creative Embellishments)

I added lace flowers and this stunning Prima flower. That blue is so perfect for a boy page.

The beautiful flairs (stars, bear and bon dodo) are from my favorite brand Cuts2luv. You can find them on the etsy store here

I hope you enjoyed my page for this guest DT assignement, I wish to thank the Scrapki Wyzwaniowo team for this amazing opportunity !

Celebrate 20 years for Creative Embellishments

Celebrating 20!

I love making cards & tags for my sons birthdays. This year, my eldest turned 20. Wow, I always ask myself how come time is going by so fast.

My son is a quiet young man, still very passionate about his video games, so I felt that it would be fun to make him a card with that theme. The other source of inspiration is our current passion for the Games of Thrones series, the dragon was just perfect with the film strips.

For this project I altered my items in 3 ways:

  1. Covered my film strips in black gesso
  2. Painted my star, title and dragon with Metallique Art Alchemy fresh orange paint
  3. Covered with black gesso and altered with Finnabair wax my game controls

I love the shine effect of the metallique paint

The gift tags that match are so much fun to make

I wish all of you a wonderful day !

Sweetheart for Cuts2luv and entry to Lindy's challenge

I've been making fun layouts with my niece's belly pictures all summer, now is the time to introduce you to our new family member: Ayden.

I just love the new photoshoots that they do now, he's all dressed up in a deer costume. He is just ADORABLE.

I wanted to give this layout an outdoor earthy feel. So I played with Woodgrain & a print paper, then added some leaves. I also colored some cheese cloth to add dimension and details for a woodsy feel.

I love this burlap flower, it fits perfectly with a touch of straw underneath. And what can I say about this stunning deer flair other than I am in love... I covered the leaf chipboards with a this coat of white gesso, then added touches of Lindy's ink in layers.

This second flair is also quite unite with the repetitive pattern of the deer antlers. Again you can see the leaf chipboard and some touches of straw.

This Sweetheart heat embossed title was just perfect for this page. Do you notice at the bottom, the small words? They were made by one of my good friend Edith Cloutier.

The flairs can be found here on the Cuts2luv Etsy store: Special set Christmas 2017

I would like to enter this page for the November color combo challenge. Here is the image for this month: November challenge

I played with many earth tones from my Lindy's stamp gang collections:

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoyed my page. I wish you a wonderful day !

Bird Large Tag for Creative Embellishments and More Than Words challenge entry

There are days when you get inspired by simple things, like this beautiful picture of these 2 birds. I just loved the colors and they looked like 2 love birds.

November 18th will be our 21st wedding anniversary and I wanted to give a small piece of art to my husband as a gift. He's sweet, he likes to have my work in his office. I wanted an image that was not us, but represented a couple, and this was the perfect picture for this project.

My starting point was one of the Huge Tags, I just love to play with them. They are simple and fun to use. I layered it with woodgrain patterned paper that was inspired by the November More Than Words challenge.

NOTE: This tag is EXTRA Large, 5.5 x 10 inches, the base is chipboard covered by a woodgrain paper. Not your standard tag.

Corner ornament clusters are always fun when you can play with different objects and flower shapes. I had this small round wood piece that is slightly hidden under the bright white flower. Then underneath, the stunning leaves. Together they complete this beautiful fall piece.

I heat embossed my chipboard in various fall tones.

Last final touches were to ass splatters of ink, diluted gesso and then some sequins for an added bling.

Word Inspiration - OUTDOORS
Creative Challenge - WOODGRAIN

Outdoors: I love nature, I enjoy especially seeing animals in Nature. The fall I find particularly spectacular because of all the wonderful colors we have here in Canada. At home, at this time of the year, I always have a bird feeder, we do not get the birds on my project, but we do get stunning birds like Cardinals and Blue Jays many times per day.

Woodgrain, many vendors now offer stunning woodgrain backgrounds, I find them so versatile. If I look at my projects over the last year, I would say 40% have a woodgrain background. I enjoy the natural feel it gives the project and the dark one I used on my project is perfect to give focus to the light elements in my clusters. I also added in my clusters that small round piece of wood, to add an extra outdoor feel to the project.

I hope you enjoyed my project, thanks for stopping by !

Creative Embellishments November challenge

Good morning bloggers, we are in full fall colors here in Canada. I was so inspired by the image this month. I loved the feel of the colors, the leaves and the animals in the image. The twist of this months challenge was to use a flourish (oups I forgot).

Here is my page with a stunning picture of a fox taken in Vancouver British Colombia region by one of my friends. He was super lucky to find this mom fox around his campsite.

I started my page by using a beautiful mandala stencil by snip art and then colored that section with my Lindy's Stamp Gang spray Lucious Lime.

I wanted to add some of the leaves chipbords and embossed them with Fiddlehead Fern Green from Lindy's.

The title I painted with Finnabair paints, I just love the shimmer they give to the chipboard pieces.

Here is the beautiful inspiration image:
