Ukraine with Frau Muller

Ukraine, aplace that I have never been but I know is the host of many wonderful Mix-Media artists including :   Frau Muller (Natalia) her blog : http://fraumuller.blogspot.ca/   I've seen her work before on the 7 dots studio website, she is one of my favorites in the design team.   The challenge was to create a background using many layers of medium and also many layers of paper behind our picture.   Here is my take on the challenge using another picture from our family vacation in Riviera Maya in 2013:  

    So for this challenge I decided that I was making my background paper from scratch. Here are a few pictures to show my process:  

I started with white cardstock and added a layer of light medium thru a text stencil:

 

Then I started playing with my paints combining the, with Liquid Glazing medium:

 

I found that the 13 Arts paint is REALLY REALLY pigmented so I should have used more medium with it, It just would not come off with the baby wipes as normal acrylique paint would... so it was one of this OH WELL moments, let's deal with it and move on...

 

Oh yes... VERY VERY pigmented paint that just does not want to come off my fingers. Gotta love that Mix-Media manicure:

  Then I added the 2nd stencil with Finnabair white crackle paint thru a heart stencil:  

 

To my surprise when this was drying, the hearts were turning blue... did I mention that the paint was very pigmented? LOL

 

Then I just added some of the beige paint on with my fingers to create more momentum in the background with touches of the blue paint on certain ares to give the page more debth.

 

And then you just add the ornaments a litlle splatter of ink here and there, some stamping and you are done....

Défi A-Octobre- Lucky 7 Factory

OOOh Yes, défi on se tache... Quoi de mieux que de s'amuser avec mes peintures et me beurer les doigts, oui j'adore... Une tite page de mon homme lors de notre voyage au Mexique. Bon défi les filles.   OOOh lets get dirty, this challenge requires STAINS... I love this, getting down and dirty with my inks and my paints, I love it. Here is my layout for this challenge, a quick pic of my hubby during our recent trip to Mexico.

Montreal Old-Port

L'an dernier, lors d'une sortie en croisière au Vieux-Port, j'ai vue un magnifique voilier tout près du quai. Je dois avouer avoir un faible pour les voiliers... Je n'avais pas ma caméra avec moi, mais j'avais mon i-pad, cette photo est prise à travers la vitre du bateau de croisière. Imaginez ma surprise lorsque j'ai vue la qualité de cette photo prise derrière une vitre. J'adore cette photo, particulièrement le ciel, regardez les nuages comment ils sont sombre.

Alors pour accentuer les nuages sombres, je me suis amusé avec des masques et beaucoup d'étampes pour créer mon fond de page. J'ai donné un look 'vintage' pour ce montage, je souhaite que vous allez l'aimer.

Last summer, I went on a diner cruise in the Old-Port of Montréal with a friend. While we were enjoying our drinks, this gorgeous sailboat arrived. I did not have my camera, but I had my i-pad, so i took a picture thru the window. Imagine my surprise when I saw the result... I just love the dark clouds in the background.

In order to enhance the image, I created this mix-media background using my distress inks and stains. I used alot of my stamps and gave it a good grungy look. Hope you enjoy it...

 

Finnabair Class--- LOVED IT !

Oh my... There are no words to explain, what a fabulous time I had attending Finnabar (Anna's) class yesterday. WOW, she is so talented and a delightful person. I've got to admit, I've been admiring her work for over a year now, but it's only very recently that I've gotten the courage to make the jump into the Mix-Media world... Ohhhh the joy ! So... Here are a few pictures of my day for you to enjoy.

Oh Misère, il m'est impossible d'exprimer l'immense plaisir que j'ai eu hier d'assister une classe enseignée par Finnabar (Anna). Une fille extrêment talentueuse et d'une grande gentillesse . Depuis plus d'un an, j'admire son travail, mais mon aventure dans le monde du mix-média est à ses débuts... Oooh la joie d'avoir découvert cette nouvelle passion. J'en profite pour partager quelques photos de ma journée.

Mix-Media #3- Pour Jacques !

Ahhhh... que je m'amuse... Voici la toute dernière toile que j'ai fait hier soir. C'est un format 6x6. J'ai un collègue de bureau quie j'apprécie beaucoup, présentement, il y a plein de changement au bureau et, parfois cela amène un peu de frustration. Jacques et moi sommes un peu comédiens, et on s'assure de trouver du temps pour rire, afin d'alléger la journée. Alors un beau petit câdre sous la thématique d'une belle journée me semble bien appropriée présentement. Je souhaite que vous l'aimerez...

Ma 2e SHE ART girl- MIx-Media

Ahhh j'ai le coup de foudre pour le mix-media... ce que j'aime me beurrer les mains ! Vouci ma 2e toile, SheArt, inspiration de Christie Tomlinson, fait pour mon amie et ancienne patronne qui a eu une promotion. Nous étions les deux matinales au bureau, alors vue qu'elle travailleras désormais dans un bureau à la maison, elle aura un petit souvenir de moi ! Croyez-vous qu'elle va l'aimer?

My First -- Mon Premier-- MIX MEDIA

Faut bien arrêter d'admirer et m'y lancer... le Mix-media. Il y'a de plus en plus de mes connaîssances qui s'amusent avec ce type de création. J'admire depuis longtemps plussieurs oeuvre faot par ScrapIsa et Mel, alors à mon tour de m'y lancer sous l'inspiration de Christy Tomlinson, ma première SHE ART.

It's about time that I stop admiring and jump on the band wagon. Over the last few months, I've admired ScraIsa & Mel's work. So here I go, inspired by Christy Tomlinson, my very first SHE ART.
