Un Cadeau / A Gift

On October 3rd it was my mom's birthday, the 1st one without my dad, so I really went out of my way and tried to make it special for her by taking a day off to spend it with her, we went to her favorite restaurant and then did some shopping. She spent a few days at home with us and had a great time. I took some time to make her this canvas in Pan Pastels for her kitchen. It represents her with my 2 sons. She was really pleased.  Here are a few pictures with the project along the way, enjoy !

Panpastelle Face / Visage

Oh my god... As a few of you know, once a month, I am taking an Art Journaling class; we work with different mediums every time. This month, Gisele guided us in working with Panpastelles, I had done a few projects but did not feel comfortable and felt limited with this medium. So she gave us some insights of what she had done with them and I took the challenge full on and decided to do a face. OMG, there were times where I thought I was never going to get anything decent done. I've never done faces, nor have I ever drawn faces, they just intimidate me. So... All I can say is that I am so proud of my achievement with this piece; I almost have a hard time believing that I made this. So proud that I challenged myself and sure can`t wait to do more work with my Panpastelles.

Here are my pictures from early start to midpoint:

Create !

Ooooh what fun I had last Saturday with my good friend Isabelle. We went to the Jenn Star workshop at Scrapbook Centrale. It was a fantastic workshop and we had loads of fun. The project was a mix-media pennant, my fingers are still blue from playing around with the inks.

Here are a few pictures...

So, here we are creating the background for the big butterfly that I will later have cut out in pièces.

A picture of my friend Isabelle, she is doing the project for her daughter's room. It was her first time playing with mix-media, she loved it!

A picture of Isabelle and I at the end of the class:

Oh Yes, I need a picture with the teacher... She was sooo sweet.

And last but not least, a picture of the top part of my project, Love how the butterfly came out. This will look fantastic in my scraproom.

And yes... you guessed it,,, It has turquoise on it !

Montreal Old-Port

Last summer, I went on a diner cruise in the Old-Port of Montréal with a friend. While we were enjoying our drinks, this gorgeous sailboat arrived. I did not have my camera, but I had my i-pad, so i took a picture thru the window. Imagine my surprise when I saw the result... I just love the dark clouds in the background.

In order to enhance the image, I created this mix-media background using my distress inks and stains. I used alot of my stamps and gave it a good grungy look. Hope you enjoy it...

Défi A- Septembre Lucky 7 Factory

The challenge was to scrapbook a picnic moment. It was perfect to scrp one of my favorite pictres of the boys. Philippe was 5 and Gabriel 4 at the time. We had gone out to Centre Laval Park for the afternoon. What I like the most about this picture is the smiles, they are so naive and pure. My boys are teenagers now and I sure miss thoses smiles. Hope you join in our challenge...
